Armenia and Georgia are located in the Lesser Caucasus Mountains at the south-eastern limits of the Western Palaearctic situated at the junction of Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Both of these small countries have an unusually rich diversity of flora and fauna for being such small areas. Around 250 bird species breed in each of these former Soviet Republics and we plan to enjoy the richness in bird species and other wildlife in conjunction with the famous hospitality of the local people, delicious cuisine, numerous ancient historical and cultural monuments and some of the most impressive scenery in the Western Palaearctic. Our 10 day tour in the Caucuses offers visiting birders and naturalists a window into this off the beaten path destination.
