Mark Welford

Mark is a Brit living in Iowa since August 2019 where he is the head and professor of geography and director of the environmental resource management program at University of Northern Iowa where he works on identifying the geospatial infectivity of COVID-19 and plague. Mark has led study abroad trips to Czech Republic, Poland, Ecuador, India and Italy and in the past has led tours to Ecuador, Colombia, Romania, Ghana, Southern Africa (including RSA, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia), India, Indonesia, Malaysia and PNG. He has also participated in expeditions to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, the Chalbi Desert of Kenya and Juneau Icefield in Alaska.
