Jonathan Cooley

Jonathan Cooley grew up in the North Carolina Piedmont and has been passionate about birds and wildlife from a young age. He attended undergraduate in North Carolina and graduated with an Environmental Science degree. In undergrad Jonathan joined in on every ornithology field trip he could, which was his introduction to birding the Outer Banks! After undergrad, he completed his master’s degree in biology at Marshall University where he studied rattlesnakes. After working for 5 years in South Carolina with non-game wildlife it was time for a change. So in 2018, he shifted gears into ecotourism, where he took a job on the Outer Banks with a kayaking guide company. He greatly enjoyed guiding and continues to manage the kayak guide service during the tourist season.
